I am a 2016 MSc graduate in Business Analytics from Bowling Green State University (BGSU). My time at BGSU was very enlightening, successful and of course, lots of fun.

During my recent work position, I had worked as a consultant at the Centre for business Analytics. I had applied Text Analytics and Evaluation Analytics on the first project. This was followed by Multivariate Multiple Linear Regression Analysis for other clients to do predictive analytics. On the most recent one, I had applied Path Anaysis in combination with Multivariate Analysis of Variance to answer the questions that our another client was having. I had worked as a Business Analyst for Eastman Chemical Company during summer 2015. I had applied advanced predictive analytics including Classification and Rare Observation Detection to meet the firm’s objectives in doing business analysis and fraud detection.

During my time at BGSU, I won the 2015 Business Analytics Case Computation. I and my partner had applied advanced data mining and statistical modeling methods including Random Forest, Discriminant Analysis and Logistic Regression model to do predictive analytics for potential subscribers on a certain bank service . In addition, we have used clustering particularly kmean clustering to do market segmentation to make it suitable for marketing campaign. (Presentation slide) On top of that, I am awarded the spring 2016 Outstanding Graduate Student Award.

Before my most recent study at BGSU, I also have a master's degree in Mathematical Statistics from Norwegian University of Science and Technology NTNU,Norway. My master's thesis was on Image Anyalysis by using approximate recursive algorithm for finding MAP of binary Markov random fields. The thesis is attached here. My undergraduate study is in Applied Statistics from Hawassa University, Ethiopia.

I have a solid experience in Statistical modeling, Data mining and Machine learning tools. I enjoy working on data. Solving the puzzle found in every big or small, structured or unstructured data and coming up with actionable recommendations or insights is my motivation.

I am always enriching myself with advanced knowledge in data sciences. Towards this, I am attending trainings and workshops in the field of Business Analytics, Data Science and Statistical Modeling.
